The Salem Boys Cross Country team finished 7th place in the 2016 KLAA Championships, led by sophomore Luke Haran.

Haran ran 16:14 to earn all-conference honors.  He now ranks #14 in school history and is now the fastest sophomore in school history (behind Steve McEvilly, currently running at DePaul).  Haran was followed by a solid pack of Ryan Exell (16:58), Alex Kroll (17:02), Andrew Beyer (17:06), Shane McKimmy (17:15), Tyler Dew (17:16) and Owen Parks (17:19).  Haran, Exell, Kroll, and Beyer all ran new lifetime bests and McKimmy, Dew, and Parks were each within 10 seconds of their lifetime bests on the wet, muddy course at Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton.

The Rocks won the JV race, going 1-2-5-7-12 to score 29 points.  Leading the way were Alec Teodori (JV Champ – 17:20), Nolan Teodori (17:34), Christo Jeffers (17:36), Aaron Profozich (17:40) and Tyrin Johnson (17:48).

Earning Golden Shoe Awards for their performances were sophomore Luke Haran, junior Ryan Exell, junior Aaron Profozich, sophomore Luke Jakubik, and junior Cameron Smith.  The Rocks have now had 15 runners break 18:00, the most in school history.
