Boys XC Competes at Regionals

Regionals

The Salem Boys Cross Country team finished 5th place in the 2016 Regional Championships, led by sophomore Luke Haran.  Salem finished with 138 points, only five points out of 3rd place (Stevenson, 133 points) and right behind Catholic Central (134 points).  Plymouth finished 6th (143 points), Churchill 7th (150 points) and Canton 8th (158 points).  Novi won the meet with 54 points and Northville finished 2nd.

Haran ran 16:05 to earn all-region honors and a trip to the State Championships, held next Saturday at Michigan International Speedway.  He now ranks #10 in school history.  Haran was followed by a solid performance from junior Ryan Exell, who ran a massive personal best 16:37 to finish 23rd place.  He now ranks as the #29 runner in school history and #13 junior.  Behind Exell were senior Alex Kroll (17:00, new personal best), junior Alec Teodori (17:13, new personal best), sophomore Shane McKimmy (17:14), senior Tyler Dew (17:18), and junior Andrew Beyer (17:54).
