The Salem Boys Cross Country Team finished runner-up at the 2016 Marauder Invitational today at Lake Erie Metropark, scoring 64 points.  Sophomore Luke Haran was Salem’s top finisher in 2nd place, followed quickly by sophomore Shane McKimmy who finished 11th.  Also finishing in the top 20 for Salem were senior Tyler Dew, junior Alec Teodori, and senior Alex Kroll.  Junior Andrew Beyer and sophomore Luke Jakubik rounded out the scoring for the Rocks.  In all, six athletes earned medals on the day.

In the JV race, junior Owen Parks took the lead late in the race, leading a 1-2-3 finish for Salem (sophomore Christo Jeffers and junior Ryan Exell).  Seven Salem athletes finished in the top 10 in the JV race.

The course was a pretty tough course at Lake Erie Metropark due to the massive amounts of rain we have received recently, but the Rocks did a good job moving up through the field in the third mile.
Saline finished 1st (52 points) and Wayne Memorial finished 3rd (91 points).  Complete race documents are at http://salemathletics.com/hq/2016-information-4/xc-results-2/.
