Stevenson High School
The Salem Rocks boys tennis team traveled to Livonia Stevenson for a match that has determined which team played in the A division of the conference tournament for the last several years, and today was no different. The Rocks took 5 quick matches to cement the victory, but Stevenson chipped away and took 4 to make it close.
At 1singles sophomore Eric Liu continued his undefeated streak with a quick 6-0, 6-0 win over Tom Dunne (LS).
2s Jason Zheng (S) bested Steve Dunne (LS) 6-1, 6-2
3s Parshva Sanghvi (S) was defeated by Caleb Williamson (LS) 7-5, 4-6, 6-3
4s Ajay Bharathan (S) coasted to an easy victory over Erik Schmidt (LS) 6-1, 6-2
1d Andrew Clarke/Khush Patel (S) struggled a little before downing Kevin Dunne/Josh Maj (LS) 7-5, 6-3.
2d Ryan The/Nihal Lingham (S) fell to Brian Stemen/Abe Alrabady (LS) 6-2, 6-4
3d Abdul Junaid/Aneesh Sabnic (S) lost to Alec Said/Anthony Akel (LS) 7-5, 4-6, 6-3
4d Roenik Master/Rahul Rao (S) started slow but then cruised to an easy win over J.P. Marvin/Brian Nettie (LS) 7-5, 6-0
5d Jack Nugent/Cal Smiley (S) fought hard but went down in 3 sets to Dillan Pribak/Tom Andrews (LS) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
The Rocks take on a short-handed team from John Glenn/Wayne tomorrow at PCCS
