The Salem Boys cross country team won the 2017 Autumn Classic today, hosted by Warren Mott High School at Stony Creek Metropark. The Rocks finished with 73 points to win by nearly 40 points over their closest competitor, Warren DeLaSalle (131 points).
The Rocks place all five of their scorers in the top 20, led by the 5th place finish from sophomore Bryce Paine. After Paine, seniors Jacob Vick, Alec Teodori, Gabe Demetter, and Owen Parks followed in quick order. In total, 14 athletes placed in the top 80 of the race that had 246 total runners.

Salem was led in the reserve race by freshman Hezekiah Williams who won the race in a time of 19:27 to win by nearly 20 seconds over his closest competitor. 175 total athletes ran in the reserve race.
Salem next races on Tuesday, September 19 in a dual meet with John Glenn at John Glenn High School.
