The Salem Boys Cross Country Team finished 3rd place in the ultra-competitive Regional Championships on Saturday, qualifying for next weekend’s MHSAA State Championships.
All seven runners for the Rocks ran tremendous races, led by senior Ryan Exell (8th) in a time of 16:15. He was followed by a tight pack of senior Andrew Beyer (16:43), junior Christo Jeffers (16:44), senior Nolan Teodori (16:53), junior Shane McKimmy (16:53), senior Jacob Vick (16:57) and junior Luke Haran (17:10). Jeffers, Teodori, McKimmy, and Vick ran new lifetime bests. Haran ran a very gutsy race after a stick punctured his foot on the warmup. Overall, Salem did a great job executing their race plan and running tough for 5,000 meters.
