Girls Varsity Pom Pon · Coach Spotlight: Kristy Adams

This week’s coach spotlight will be on Kristy Adams! She is currently coaching her second year of Salem Pompon. Coach Adams was on a pompon team throughout middle and high school, and then continued on to be a part of a collegiate team as well. Her love for pompon growing up is what inspired her to be a coach so she could share her passion for it. The best part of the job for Coach Adams is getting to watch athletes grow throughout the season and reach their goals. Early on in the season, Salem Pompon placed second at a competition which motivated them to work hard to get first place next time. That hard work later paid off at the State Championship competition when both JV and Varsity went undefeated and are now Division 1 State Champions! Coach Adams’ advice to Salem student-athletes is to work hard, because hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. She also wants to tell athletes that if the only thing you learn from being on a sport is the sport itself, then you have learned nothing at all. Congrats to Kristy Adams and the Salem Pompon teams on their State Championship!
