JoDee Dillon is going to be the next coach to be featured in a spotlight! She has been coaching sideline and competitive cheer for the past 23 years. JoDee cheered in high school and was a part of the pom team as well. Coach Dillon decided to be a coach because she enjoys working with athletes at the high school level. It can be challenging at times, but is overall very rewarding. Her favorite part of the job is competitive season because it lets them know how good they are. The Rocks are currently having a great season! They are accomplishing lots of their goals as well as setting new ones so they can keep striving to be better at every competition. Going into the second half of the season, their biggest goals are to add team standing tucks into their round two, and to place top five at District. At their best competition this year, the Rocks achieved a score of 745 total points! Coach Dillon’s favorite memory was seeing the reaction of one of her athletes after she threw her back tuck and stuck the landing during a competition. Her advice to current student-athletes is to never get up and keep believing in yourself! Good luck to Salem Competitive Cheer throughout the rest of their season!
