Rocks News · Wrestling goes 1-1 vs Glenn and Trenton

The Salem Wrestling Team went 1-1 Wed losing to  #8th ranked John Glenn 41-30 and beating Trenton 39-31.  Salem Wrestling is now 4-2 on the season.

I thought the guys wrestled tough tonight.  We tried to get our guys pumped up about going against Glenn and they wrestled tough.  It is all you can ask when you go up against a really good program like they are.  Good matches by Justin Proynk, Warren Cox and Evan Kirkpatrick kept it close and gave us the ability to be in it.  Our team stepped up and went out there knowing how tough Glenn is and how well coached they are and still try and scrap with them and kudos to the team I think the effort was there!  The match with Trenton was close to, lots of heart from Max Hirvela to fight off his back and scrap his way to a win.  Also great effort by Collin Schultz winning the last match which the dual came down to.   Our team is in a good place right now but we have no time to rest, we have our annual Salem Elks Christmas Tournament December 29th and it is a 30 team tournament.  We need to have another good week of practice and I think we could do really well to.  Our schedule is tough and it doesn’t let up so back to the grind, and I know our kids are up to it!  -Head Coach Jeremy Henderson
