Thursday, Feb 7th, the Salem Wrestling team won its 5th district title in a row, beating Park rivals Plymouth 64-18 and Canton 45-25. That bring Salem’s dual meet record to 14-10.
“From day one of season Team Districts and getting the 5th one in a row has been a big team goal, so it is always nice to accomplish your goal. I thought our kids had their best week of practice this week, and it rolled over to Individual Districts where we got 6 guys out. I can’t be happier with where our program is right now. We have 30 kids at practice everyday, they all want to get better, I don’t have to worry about wrestlers not showing up, it’s a really great room right now. My coaches show up everyday ready to work. It takes so many moving parts to make a program great, I am very blessed to have great kids, coaches and parents. I hope we can keep it going, I think we can get all 6 wrestlers to Individual States if we have a good Saturday at Individual Regional’s at Saline! -Head Coach Jeremy Henderson
