Coach Dave Gerlach’s Comments: ” Another warm day on a dusty course with plenty or sharp turns and hills. Many times XC athletes don’t realize that this sport is not about their times, its about whom you beat. Their times didn’t necessarily show it, but the girls competed very well today finishing 6th out of 20 teams which included beating the other two Park teams varsities. We split squad twice a year to give others a shot at the experience of running in a varsity race with some pressure. These girls did a nice job today lead by another great race by freshman Olivia Millen. Maddie Grant and Anna Kubinski ran terrific in the JV race (Dominated by Salem with 5 in the top 10) by finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.”

Game Recap

We had a busy week with 2 league matches and a tournament today. I thought with us having a big win on Thursday it would give us some energy for today. Unfortunately we never looked comfortable with our serve receive all day. Which makes it tough to run any type of offense, so it put us in a lot of tough situations. This tournament gave us the chance to play teams that will make us better. We have another busy week coming up with 2 more league matches. See you on the court.

Coach Dave Gerlach’s Comments: “Great competition today which is why we wanted to bring our Varsity “A” team out to MSU. It was a very hot day today with very little wind, but the girls prepared well and competed hard. The girls start was right where I wanted them to set up a smooth race. We were a little too aggressive in the first mile and several of our athletes struggled in the last half of the race. It would have been tough to catch Dearborn Divine Child (Ranked 4th in D2), but if a couple of our runners were where they normally are, second place was obtainable. Freshman Reagan Justice is running incredible right now. She ran a terrific race and lead us like a upperclassman. Gabby Mancini & Hannah Jeffress also ran great. Both ran very smooth, well paced races and continue to be solid.”
