Coach Dave Gerlach’s Comments:
“Wow – On a rainy and cold Saturday, these ladies ran hot. The girls were excited and loose before the meet today and we wanted to go have fun. That carried over to the race. Once again we got cut off at the start by several teams, but the girls were able to fight back into rhythm. Our entire team came through the mile extremely fast, but hung on to maintain pace. The third mile was pure gut check and they responded. They continued to fight all the way through the finish. I was very proud at how this team had that look in their eye that they wanted to get back to the State Finals and contribute. This was truly a TEAM accomplishment. I can’t say enough about Reagan & Olivia who have emerged as some of the States best through hard work and determination. Also Bridget as a senior has lead by example with her work ethic and competitiveness. Most of these girls train together which promotes teamwork and the ability to rely on each other. That show in how they race. The competitiveness, passion and toughness of this team is incredible. It is fun to coach and never gets old qualifying for the State Finals as a team (7th year in a row)”
