On Friday, May 10th, the Salem Girls Track & Field competed in the KLAA Conference Meet at Novi H.S. Salem was seeded 5th/6th going into the meet, and finished with 77 points, good for 4th place out of 16 teams. Medalists for the Rocks included the following athletes:

> Autumn Smith was 7th in the 100m dash (13.15)
> Mari Westley was 6th in the 200m dash (27.25)
> Lyniah Wilson won the shot put with a throw of 41’ 5.5”
> Olivia Millen was 4th in the 800m run (2:20.33), with Sophie Jeffers 7th (2:25.29)
> In the 1600m run, Reagan Justice was 5th with a run of 5:25.80; Reagan was also 4th in the 3200m (11:23.59)
> Natalia Lewandowski was 6th in the discus (104’ 3”)
> Makayla Ward was 6th in the 100m hurdles, running 16.84
> Sydney Meloche, Autumn Smith, Hannah Pheeney, & Mari Westley were 5th in the 4x100m relay (51.25) and 3rd in the 4x200m relay (1:47.72)
> In the high jump, Macayla Harris won with a meet-record 5’ 4” jump, and Makayla Ward was 3rd (5’ 2”)
> The 4x400m relay (Sophie Jeffers, Marissa Henry, Elena Wheeler, Madison Grieb) placed 7th with a time of 4:21.91
> Mariana Suarez-Arzaga was 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 15’ 10”
> The 4x800m relay (Sophie Jeffers-Marissa Henry-Elena Wheeler-Olivia Millen) ran 9:47.42 and took 3rd

Great job by all our athletes at the KLAA meet; on to the Division 1 Regional Meet this Friday, May 17th, at the PCEP Varsity Stadium.
