Coach Dave Gerlach’s Comments:
“Today saw a spike in temperature with some high humidity and a strong field of teams. With this type of competition, you have to get a good start and then settle in. If you don’t, this type of competition with run away from you. We talked before the race and had our plan to be a little more aggressive early. Four of our seven got out exactly as planned. The let the race dictate what should happen. Today’s conditions were tough, but the the Varsity “A” team competed hard. The “fearless foursome” of Olivia, Isabell, Reagan and Marissa are running like determined veterans. It is so fun to see them compete and work together. Kiersten was our fifth runner and tried to get back into the hunt after being caught up at the start. Esha and Maddie have earned their spots on the big stage this year and are still getting used to this type of speed. I was very happy with the way those two battled and are learning what it takes. Finishing third in a meet this size is terrific. We were in reach of second place Pioneer if we can close the minute gap between our 4 and 5 runner. We are looking for more good things to come.”

NEXT COMPETITION IS ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 28TH WITH A SPLIT SQUAD BETWEEN COACHING LEGENDS AT HURON MEADOWS METROPARK AND CHELSEA INVITATIONAL AT HUDSON MILLS METROPARK
