“Today capped off an incredible year with determination to be the best. It is a huge accomplishment to qualify for the State Finals as a team but this year we wanted to compete and try to get in the top 10. It had rained hard out at Michigan International Speedway on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday and this course does not hold water very well. There was at least 3 inches deep of mud from our starting box to ten meters out. The footing the last 3/4 mile looked like a horse track with muddy shoe imprints in it. The course conditions really slowed things down time wise. We had talked about getting out aggressive because we knew positioning would not change a bunch upon entering the stadium with the poor footing. We needed to be “mudders” today and just grit our teeth and compete. Reagan & Olivia got out hard early and fought all the way through the finish. It is hard to gauge things at the State Finals because everyone is talented. The rest our varsity seemed to get out a bit slower than we wanted but ended up fighting through the traffic. This has been a dream year with a lot of sub stories. These girls continued a Rock Solid tradition of hard work and determination this entire year. Its been a great 2018 ride.”
