Coach Dave Gerlach’s Comments:
“What an exciting day! Once again these girls did not disappoint. It has been a very emotional and stressful year. This past week was no different. Two of our top runners are battling little ailments and one was sick in bed for three days. Through all of that, these girls stuck together and went after it today. I could tell the Varsity was ready when they arrived with a look in their eyes. We knew going in that everyone else was pumped and wanted to qualify, so we needed to get out from the beginning. We got a real good start and settled into our paces from the gun. Kiersten ran her best mile of the year and was locked in. Abby Siddall had one heck of a kick today to really seal it for us. Landon and MacLellan have been solid and continue to impress. I can not say enough about our top three (Millen, Kulick, Henry), we have put so much of the pressure and workload on them this year and they once again ran with such drive and passion. All three qualified as individuals for the State Finals as well by finishing in the top 15. Very proud of this group for overcoming so many hurdles this year to make it to the State Finals as a team for the 8th year in a row. See you soon Michigan International Speedway.”.
