Coach Dave Gerlach’s Comments:
“Wow. This is what competition and racing is all about. Three great teams going head to head on a beautiful day. We had discussed our race plan and knew what Northville traditionally does early in races. We let them set the pace and stayed in contact throughout the first mile. We then went to work and began the hunt. Reagan ran the perfect race and is racing with so much confidence. Olivia is really starting to come on after coming off an ankle injury in track that limited her summer. Freshman sensation Isabell Kulick and super sophomore Marissa Henry are training and racing with so much passion and grit. Those four finished in front of Northvilles’ number three runner today. We had them beat after four runners, but we couldn’t finish them off. Our #5 was just too far back today. I have a good group at 5,6,7,8 it was just out of pushing Northvilles’ score up. We are going to change some things up in practice to hopefully develop those Varsity positions and challenge that group for the final push of County, Conference, Regionals and hopefully State Finals.”

NEXT RACE WILL BE A SPLIT SQUAD ON SATURDAY WITH VARSITY “A” AT THE JACKSON INVITATIONAL AT SHARP PARK AND THE VARSITY “B” TEAM AND REST OF THE SQUAD AT MONROE JEFFERSON AT STERLING STATE PARK.
